We help young students fall in love with learning. Then we channel that love into the real-world skills they'll carry for life.
The public school model was designed over a century ago. The world has changed. The classroom hasn't.
Our children deserve an education that prepares them for the modern world. That's why we built Apogee.
Apogee is a private microschool and homeschool alternative in St. Petersburg, FL for students ages 5 to 13. But what we really are is two things, depending on where your child is in their journey.
Chapter 1: Learn to love learning. For our younger students (ages 5 to 11), the goal is simple: spark the curiosity that makes a child want to learn more. Through hands-on projects, group conversations, daily fitness, and play, kids discover that learning isn't something that happens to them. It's something they get to do. No standardized tests. No rigid lectures. Just the kind of joyful, student-driven exploration that builds a foundation for everything that comes next.
Chapter 2: Prepared for life, not the next test. As students grow (ages 12 and up), we channel that love of learning into real-world skills: critical thinking, communication, adaptability, entrepreneurial confidence, and financial literacy. These are the skills the traditional system doesn't prioritize but that the real world demands. Our older students don't just learn about the world. They start building in it.
These aren't just talking points. They're the foundation every decision at Apogee is built on.
When kids are genuinely interested in something, they become unstoppable students.

Movement, fitness, and physical discipline are woven into every single day at Apogee.

A husband and wife who believe the family should be at the center of a child's education.
Nick spent his career building technology businesses before realizing the education system wasn't preparing kids for the world he saw every day. As a Florida National Guard officer and former startup operator, he brings an entrepreneurial mindset to everything Apogee does. His goal: give kids the skills and confidence to build a life on their own terms.
Karlia is a Christian therapist who spent years working with youth in juvenile detention, elementary schools, and counseling. She believes in meeting kids where they are and building a skillset that helps them overcome obstacles with confidence. Her vision for Apogee: a place where every child feels supported enough to discover what they're passionate about.
Apogee's philosophy aligns exactly with the type of education and atmosphere we were desiring our child be a part of.
Nick and his wife are an inspiring young couple with a clear and thoughtful vision for education. Their model blends core academics with thoughtful conversations and meaningful project-based learning.
The focus on critical thinking, independence, confidence, fitness, and real-world skills is exactly what we've been searching for. It feels refreshing to find a place that values curiosity and personal growth just as much as academics.
Whether your child is just starting to fall in love with learning or ready to build real-world skills, we have a schedule that fits. All programs run Monday through Thursday. Fridays are always off. Families pick their own days.
Whether you're exploring options, ready to enroll, or just curious about what makes Apogee different, we'd love to hear from your family. We typically respond within 24 hours.
