Careers at Apogee St. Pete

We're building something different — a microschool that prepares kids for life, not the next test. If that resonates with you, we'd love to talk.

Why Coach at Apogee?

Shape a New Model

Be part of a pioneering approach to education — project-based, mastery-driven, and built around the whole child.

Small by Design

With 12 or fewer students per coach, you'll actually know every kid and every family. No crowd control. Real mentorship.

Move Every Day

Physical fitness is woven into every school day. You'll lead active sessions alongside academics — not sit behind a desk.

Grow With Us

Apogee is early and growing intentionally. Coaches who join now help shape the culture, curriculum, and future of the school.

Open Positions

We're hiring coaches who care more about character than credentials. If you're passionate about mentoring kids, building critical thinkers, and doing education differently — read on.

4-Day Apogee Coach (Mon–Thu)

Full-Time

Monday – Thursday  ·  8:15 AM – 3:30 PM  ·  600 49th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL

Role Summary

We're looking for a full-time Apogee Coach to join our team four days a week. You'll guide students ages 5–12 through project-based learning, lead group discussions, run daily fitness sessions, and help kids develop the critical thinking, communication, and adaptability skills they'll carry for life.

This isn't a traditional teaching role. There are no lesson plans handed down from a district office. You'll facilitate learning — asking great questions, creating hands-on experiences, and meeting each student where they are. If you've been looking for a way to actually make an impact in education without the bureaucracy, this is it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate group discussions and guide students through self-directed projects that build real-world skills
  • Create a student-centered environment focused on personal growth, mastery, and character development
  • Lead daily physical fitness sessions (activities vary throughout the year)
  • Track student progress using our competency-based mastery system — no standardized testing
  • Partner with parents to align on goals and keep learning going at home
  • Mentor students in goal-setting, entrepreneurial thinking, and financial literacy fundamentals
  • Collaborate with the founding team to refine curriculum, daily structure, and school culture
Who You Are
  • You have experience in education, coaching, or mentorship — and you're ready to do it differently
  • You're energized by the idea of small-group, relationship-driven learning over lecture-and-test models
  • You prioritize your own health and well-being — physically, mentally, emotionally — and model that for students
  • You're entrepreneurial: you've built something, started something, or thrive in environments where you have ownership over your work
  • You care deeply about preparing kids for real life, not just the next grade level
Bonus (not required): Candidates with children enrolled or planning to enroll at Apogee St. Pete are especially valued — it signals genuine alignment with our mission.

2-Day Apogee Coach

Part-Time

600 49th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL

Role Summary

We're looking for a part-time Apogee Coach to join us two days a week. Same role, same expectations, same impact — just on a two-day schedule. This is a great fit for someone who's coaching, freelancing, or homeschooling their own kids and wants meaningful part-time work that actually matters.

You'll guide students ages 5–12 through hands-on projects, lead group discussions, run fitness sessions, and help build the kind of critical thinking and communication skills that traditional schools don't prioritize.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate group discussions and guide students through self-directed projects that build real-world skills
  • Create a student-centered environment focused on personal growth, mastery, and character development
  • Lead daily physical fitness sessions (activities vary throughout the year)
  • Track student progress using our competency-based mastery system
  • Partner with parents to align on goals and keep learning going at home
  • Mentor students in goal-setting and entrepreneurial thinking
Who You Are
  • You have experience in education, coaching, or mentorship — and want something more impactful than what traditional schools offer
  • You're comfortable facilitating conversations, not lecturing
  • You prioritize your own health and well-being and model that for students
  • You're adaptable, self-directed, and energized by a startup environment
  • You care about the whole kid — not just test scores
Bonus (not required): Candidates with children enrolled or planning to enroll at Apogee St. Pete are especially valued.
